X-Rays are a form of electromagnetic radiations used to acquire images of the body parts under investigation. The body parts absorb and deflect different amount of X-Rays; thereby resulting in different densities on the imaging plate creating a 2D image of the body part.
Additionally, Digital Radiography provides high resolution X-Ray images and that too at a lower radiation dose.
The following type of X-Rays are done at NDC:
Preparation for X-Rays
- There is no specific preparation required for general radiography/X-Ray, but you may have to change into a gown during examination.
- If you are pregnant, please advise the staff prior to the examination.
- Please bring your previous imaging reports of the area under investigation.
Is the X-Ray safe?
X-Rays are a form of ionizing radiation, therefore have risks that cannot be avoided. However, X-Rays are performed in the situations where the benefit outweighs any potential risks. At New Diagnostic Centre, the use of digital X-Rays and other dose minimising techniques assure the doses are kept to as low as reasonably possible.
