This is an imaging procedure which uses high frequency waves to investigate the body part/s being examined. The ultrasound probe transmits sound waves which are reflected by the body tissues and these reflected waves are converted into images. These scans are only performed at the area of interest and not the entire body. The following ultrasounds are carried out in NDC:
- Abdomen & Pelvis (Kidney, Prostrate)
- Obstetric including Level II Ultrasounds
- Breast
- Trans-Vaginal
- Trans-Rectal
- Musculoskeletal
- Scrotal
- Thyroid & Neck Swellings
